Set Fresh Fitness Goals
If you aren’t as motivated to make those gym workouts as you were when you made your health and fitness resolutions back on New Year’s Eve there’s still time to get yourself back on track. Now is a great time to recommit to getting in shape with physical activity, start or return to a weight loss eating plan, or maybe even try something new. Keep in mind, as a Curves member, you have lots of options when it comes to your gym workout. From strength exercises for women to cardio workouts to guidance on a healthy eating plan, you’ll find it all at Curves ladies only gym in-club or at-home with MyCurves On Demand.
To stick with your healthy diet and workout plan, the key is setting fitness relationship goals that are tailored for you and provide the right weight loss motivation to keep you going.
Here are some tips on setting springtime weight loss goals:
Be specific and realistic
Were the goals you set earlier in the year too far out of reach? If you made a decision to lose weight, adopt a healthy eating plan, or make more time for yourself, your goals may have been too vague. For the best chance at success, be as specific as you can. For example, plan to do your full body workout at Curves three to four days every week and pick exactly which days you plan to go. Write down exactly what you want to achieve. Do you want to lose 20 pounds? Feel stronger for daily activities? Or simply getting in shape? Start thinking about action steps you can take to make your fitness relationship goals a reality.
Try a new fitness class
Try one of the new Curves specialty classes* or MyCurves On Demand classes to take your workout routine to the next level. With classes like Cardio, Boxing, Body Basics, and Balance, you can focus on specific areas of your body, build upon your current whole body workout, learn different moves, and work every muscle. Plus, because you’ll be at a ladies only gym, you’ll be in a safe, judgment-free zone, surrounded by other women with fitness goals just like yours. Ask your Curves Coach for the schedule of classes offered at your Curves.
Track your workout and weight progress
Writing down your fitness relationship goals and keeping track of your progress with your workout routine and healthy eating plan can help you stick with it when things get tough. If you’re having a stressful week or are thinking about skipping your workouts, look at the progress you’ve made so far to remind yourself that you need to keep on going! (And remember, exercise is great for stress relief.) Use the Curves Strength Training Journal or a calendar app on your smartphone to log your gym workouts, set weekly and monthly fitness relationship goals, and celebrate your milestones.
Be more active
Getting in shape isn’t just about consistently following a gym workout plan and eating right, it’s also about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Spend more time in the fresh air and plan some fun outdoor activities. You can add to your whole body workout at Curves by walking the dog, hiking with friends, or hitting the nature trails on a sunny Sunday, all of which can help you stay more active while strengthening your commitment to your fitness relationship goals.
Work with a Coach to keep you accountable
If you’ve struggled to find a good personal trainer or the expense was too much to maintain, look no further than Curves to provide all the motivation and support you need. If you are a member of Curves women’s gym, you get a certified Curves Coach at each full body workout session, included with your membership. With Curves dual program membership, you can workout in the club or online with MyCurves On Demand and have your coaching session in-club or virtually. If there’s no Curves near you, MyCurves On Demand + Group Coaching offers the same great support with a weekly virtual group lifestyle coaching session with a live Curves Coach. Together you’ll set goals, celebrate successes and be surrounded by a supportive community of women getting stronger together.
